Summer Fun! Art Camps and projects are designed as a means of enhancing and engaging your child’s creativity and imagination during the summer months they are not in school. Students enrolled in Summer Fun! Art Camps continue creative learning and exploring in a positive and encouraging environment.
Camp classes are designed for all school aged children having completed kindergarten where they accquired independent cutting, drawing, gluing skills that are necessary at the studio. I encourage children to be creative, but I do not "do" for them.

Parents may register their child(ren) for HALF or FULL day programs at Off The Wall Studio.
Enroll in BOTH morning and afternoon camps offered that week and be a part of LUNCH BUNCH.
Students staying at the studio for lunch should bring a bag lunch, a snack and a beverage.

LANDSCAPE DRAWING AND PAINTING:
“En plein aire” is a French expression which means “in the open air” and is used to describe painting outdoors in natural light. Students will spend the week sketching / exploring a variety of painting and drawing mediums and techniques in their study and appreciation of the beauty of nature. Final work to be executed from sketches in child’s medium of choice on canvas.

BUZZ OFF! Pollinator Sorry, FULL!
Students will design and plant a mini garden that will attract different types of pollinators: bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies. We will make a WIND CHIME, a mixed media 3D BUTTERFLY sculpture, an acrylic 3D PAINTING OF BUTTERFLIES, & sew a soft BUTTERFLY . Students will taste local honey and get a visit from a local beekeeper!

WOW! Design your very own super hero. Make him/her into a 3D action figure, create a dramatic wall sculpture, and learn or improve your comic drawing skills….including anime and manga techniques.

MAGICAL MERMAIDS Sorry, FULL!
Delight in the magic of mermaids. Students will create a doll from their personal drawing, paint a portrait of their mermaid self, make jellyfish, sculpt a coral reef, sew a mermaid crown and construct a ocean diorama.

Students will design and create animal sculptures, enclosures, paths, trees, and snack bars to include in their personal miniature ZOO diorama. We will make oversized animal mask sculptures and paintings.

Design and construct your dream room! Students will be introduced to architectural design concepts and techniques as they plan and construct a model of their dream room to scale using a variety of materials. SO! MUCH! FUN!!!!!! Create a different room every year!

DRAWING DISCOVERIES
Start or continue your drawing journey. Explore a variety of drawing mediums (graphite, charcoal, pastel, colored pencil, etc.) utilizing drawing techniques such as line, value, blending, shading and composition. Over-Under-Over-Under. That’s all there is to it! Learn to weave. Make projects with your woven pieces: a doll, a necklace, a bag, a glass or phone case, a wall hanging for your room.

Aloha. This week, let’s make believe we are on vacation in Hawaii! MY ISLAND HOME. We will make leis, paint tropical flowers, draw seashells, make a sea turtle sculpture, paint tiki masks, wear hula skirts, make candy sushi, and play island games and eat island treats on Friday during our LUAU.

HOLA! This week we travel to the colorful land of Mexico. There we will celebrate Dia de Los Muertos making Katrina sculptures, Paper picados (cut paper flags), paper flowers, mixed media shrines (nichos) honoring loved ones, make miniature skeleton dioramas, and make and enjoy traditional foods and treats during our fiesta on Friday.

PAINTED FURNITURE Sorry, FULL!
A LOT of creativity goes into using a piece of old or discarded furniture as your canvas. But is sure is FUN!
Students will clean, sand, prime and then paint and embellish a piece of furniture YOU provide. Choose a piece that your child can handle by themselves...a side table, a chair, a stool, a small shelving unit, a small chest, etc.
