ADULT CLASSES
Adult classes are a collection of mini workshops designed as a means of searching for, creating, and developing your creative self.
Adult workshops introduce students to a variety of media and techniques including:
beadwork
handmade paper
mixed media sculpture
drawing
painting
fiber art
leather work
mosaics
funky collage
basic sewing skills
NO previous art experience is necessary!

Registration must be confirmed in order for class to "go"...

Host an art event at the studio for your
friends - coworkers - family
wedding party - book club
choose a project, select a date, contact studio to confirm date, invite friends, bring snacks!
$50 per participant includes guided instruction
and ALL materials.
4 hour session. 6 guest minimum for private event.

UP-CYCLED DENIM PROJECT & INTRO TO EMBROIDERY
Make an APRON, or a PURSE, or a TOTE BAG from an old
pair of jeans. Add a bit of fun painted details or some
fancy buttons and some basic embroidery stitches.

MINI PET PORTRAITS -
Students will draw and then paint a painting on
canvas of their pet. Don't have a pet? Paint a picture
of your favorite animal.
*Please bring a clear, detailed 8.5x11" photo copy of
your pet or animal to use as a reference.

NEEDLE FELTED Whimsical Owl or Landscape COMPOSITION - Create a painting or a colorful owl using soft, vibrant layers of colored wool.Needle felting is a dry technique using the natural characteristics
of the wool fiber to keep things together. The soft colors and textures of the needle felting technique warms your heART...and your hands as
you hold it dear.

WET FELTED LANDSCAPE or ABSTRACT Composition
Suitable for framing! Or use your sewing skills to make
it into a pouch, a pillow, or a phone and eyeglass case.
Felting is kind of like painting with wool. You can get
detailed or a little crazy. You be YOU!

SMALL FELTED BOWL- A charming piece to add color
and whimsy to your room. Perfect for holding small
treasures. The bowl is wet felted using pre-dyed roving
and textured yarn.

TEXTURED WEAVING- Miniature Groovy Wall Decor
Your friends will envy your Boho weaving that combines a variety of colors and textures on a cotton warp with fancy tassels and hung on a cool piece of wood.

SILK SCARF PAINTING - Make it for yourself,
or as a gift for someone REALLY special.....
In the style of traditional batik but made more user
friendly with washable resist. Students will design a
54" scarf utilizing positive and negative shapes,
analogous and complimentary colors, patterns and
repetitive shapes.

EMBOSSED METAL BOHO GARLAND-shiny heARTs, happy butterflies, dancing dragonflies, well deserved stars flutter in the breeze with tassels and beaded tails.

EXPRESS YOURSELF - Manipulated Self Portrait / Heirloom Ornaments Students will take a "selfie" or provide vintage photos (via email) to be printed on fabric that will be used as a base for a really fun technique of applying colored pencil, embroidery, and paint directly to the surface of the photo which is then sewn and stuffed. GREAT as a last minute gift. As much fun to make as it is to give.

PAINTING and COLOR THEORY: Introduction to acrylic painting techniques.....in a guided instructional paint and sip style. YOU choose the theme for the painting and Karron will design a project for your group.
HAPA ZOME: Japanese "Leaf Dye" process. Also known as "flower hammering". This technique works well on paper or fabric. We can make bookmarks, gift cards, framable compositions that can be further embellished with stitches or drawing.

NATURAL DYES: Experiment with a variety of organic/natural dye stuffs creating a rainbow of beautiful color on fabric swatches and eggs. Students will also create a SILK SCARF bundle dye with flowers and leaves.

FELTED SOAP: A glorious project, so fun to make! And they make great hostess gifts. Complete the project with hand crafted wrappers and beaded and embellished gift tags.

SEWING BASICS: (machine, hand or embroidery) using YOUR machine or one of ours. Karron can teach you how to use your sewing machine (was it your Moms?). Sew a shopping tote or a small quilt.
