The Young at Art: Artist in the Schools Program
Art has always been a wonderful means of personal expression and exploration for students.
Art offers a unique view of the world and it’s history through the perspectives of various artists and their works.
Art exploration builds self esteem and offers freedom to create and imagine.
Art history and appreciation places the world’s vast cultures, architecture, people and places in a child’s hand and mind and therefore widens their appreciation and understanding of their world.
Art material exploration offers a child yet another tool by which to express themselves.
The Young at Art: Artist in the Schools program offers schools (K through 12) an art education experience exploring the traditional art world of drawing, painting, sculpture, collage, and printmaking, and tours of various craft cultures in the production of handmade paper, fiber work and mixed media craft techniques. This multi -media instructional approach exploring a variety of techniques, both two and three dimensional, introduces your students to the visual language of art and enhances your curriculum while engaging students in hands on learning. Students utilize their creativity and imagination, improve fine and gross motor skills, and increase language, science, sociology, and math aptitude through directed art projects.
The Young at Art: Artist in the Schools program gives your students the unique opportunity to interact with a professional artist from their community who shares her talents and enthusiasm with the students in your classroom.
Programs and projects can be designed to fit the needs of all students and can be designed to integrate art projects into ANY area of study.
The Artist in the Schools program is available for 1 special hour of instruction, or can accommodate the entire school for a full year of art education!
